Each flower on the Spiderwort ‘Sweet Kate’ is a Masterpiece

Well worth growing, the Spiderwort 'Sweet Kate' has a brilliant gold leaf form. It displays a beautiful foliage-flower contrast, is long blooming, and re-blooms if cut back. The stunning bluish purple flowers have yellow stamens and grow in terminal clusters on stiff upright stems. Opening only for a day, and this is not noticeable because many are in a cluster. The flowers will continue to open over a 3 week period up to 8 weeks if planted in ideal location.
This perennial brightens up a dark garden and is taking the gardening world by storm! The brilliant golden foliage (brightest in full sun) is highlighted with a procession of its deep blue flowers from late spring until fall. Use in borders, in moist areas, as a specimen or accent in smaller numbers; goes well with other plant with golden foliage such as Vinca 'Illumination' or Lamium 'Ghost'.
If flowering slows, behead the plant and it will start to regrow and flower all over again. Each flower is a true masterpiece, and ‘Sweet Kate’ looks fantastic in shade gardens and combos. To keep it a vigorous grower in hot climates and keep leaves from scorching, make sure it is in afternoon shade or has sufficient moisture.
